Vauxhall Extension

Vauxhall Extension

Introduced to the client by award winning practice James Gorst Architects, this small rear extension and refurbishment to a ground floor flat presented a number of challenges.

Set in a three storey Victorian terrace, the project was carried out with careful consideration to the neighbouring properties and residents to the upper floors.

The roof structure was particularly complex and our carpenters had to call upon their extensive experience. In tandem with the structural engineer and architect we were able to put forward a workable design.

Featuring a bronze cladded exterior and walnut parquet flooring, the result is a homely apartment delivered to another happy client.

……..It was tricky job because there were other flats above and party wall issues on either side. During the work, a number of unexpected problems arose with the structure of the original building itself…… These issues were handled very well. The problems were explained and sensible suggestions made to deal with them….

…..The on site supervision was excellent throughout. The neighbours were handled sensitively. Regular meetings were held to discuss the work and people turned up to do things when they said they would. The standard of work was high.

I would have no hesitation in asking Peter to quote on any similar future project.
